How this site is built

Astro, plain CSS and a Claude Code agent that helps me add new projects. The stack and the workflow.

This site is built with Astro, written in TypeScript and styled with plain CSS, with no framework on top. It is a static site, so pages load fast and there is little to maintain.

Every project is a markdown file with structured frontmatter. The build checks each file against a schema and fails if something is missing, so a broken page never ships. Adding a project means dropping the photos in a folder and writing one file.

A Claude Code agent works inside the repository. A short guide file tells it the design rules, the content schema and how I write. I drop the raw files in a folder, ask it for a first draft, then correct the draft until it sounds like me.

The pages are also built for search and for AI answer engines: descriptive titles, structured data and a plain-text summary of the whole site. A scheduled agent reruns the search check every Monday. It reads what people search for to find the site, how much each page is visited and which search terms are rising in Finland and the other countries I work in, then proposes new titles and descriptions. I approve every change before it goes live.

The agent’s drafts are good but generic, so the voice still needs me. Most of my edits go into the rules it works from.
