Hello.

I'm Lucas Ekblad, a filmmaker, photographer and producer in Helsinki. I make film, photo and podcast work for marketing and comms teams, events and brands. I'm as comfortable shooting a single portrait as running a media team of ten. Agencies and producers also book me for one role on their jobs: photographer, videographer or producer.

Small jobs I shoot alone. Bigger ones I plan from the first brief to the last delivery: the shoot days, the team, the light and the edit. For portraits and office shoots I bring my own lighting and plan it room by room from your reference images, so the pictures read as one set.

My route here is not the usual one. I started in journalism, reporting and producing for Yle and Åbo Underrättelser, where I learned to find the story, ask the right questions and deliver on deadline. In 2019 I co-founded a content agency, OneTake Productions, which made more than 100 productions for clients before I sold my share in 2022. Since 2023 I've run my own practice, Lucas Ekblad Tmi, with about 20 commissioned projects a year across photography, video and design. For three years I also produced podcasts at Greatpoint, more than 200 episodes with members of parliament, executives and other leaders.

I'm also a lawyer in training. I hold a Bachelor of Laws with honours from Åbo Akademi and am finishing a Master of Laws in information law at the University of Helsinki, with a thesis on the AI Act and copyright. I've worked as a legal trainee at a university and as a legal tech trainee at a leading Finnish law firm. For you that means I understand how law firms, legal teams and research organisations work, and I handle contracts, rights and deadlines the way you expect. I work in Swedish, Finnish and English.
