Other Tech & AI 17 May 2026 Short note
Aalto Defence Hackathon with Junction
In May 2026 I took part in the Aalto Defence Hackathon, a 48-hour Junction event for students working with defence technology.
I took part in the Aalto Defence Hackathon, run by Junction, on 15 to 17 May 2026 at Founders House in Helsinki. I applied at the start of May and was accepted a few days later. It is a 48-hour event for students and sits at the meeting point of technology and national security: cyber, space, AI and autonomous systems.
Teams of up to four form at the event itself, so you build with people you meet on the day.
My team formed on the opening evening, and we spent the rest of the weekend building a prototype for one of the challenges.
Afterwards Junction sent every participant their photos and a certificate.
