Corporate team and office photography, Helsinki

Castrén & Snellman wanted photos for student marketing and recruiting, and a more varied set of images than they had before. I wanted the pictures to feel like something is happening in the room, so a lot of them are shot through doorways and glass.

We used two spaces at their office on Södra esplanaden, a meeting room and a lounge. We scouted both and did a test shoot on a separate day, so everything was worked out before the real one. I lit it with flashes and reflectors.

On the day I decided the compositions and the tone of the whole set. One of their graphic designers styled the people and directed them, and we worked on every shot together. The result is ten images. The firm uses them for proposals, references, recruiting and internal material. I’ve kept working with them since, and they’re a close and important client.
